Weather conditions in Golden, CO during late September are usually mild to moderate. With that in mind, pack clothing applicable for temperatures that range from low 80’s to low 60’s, with a slight chance of rain. Plan to bring a medium weight jacket for outdoor events and a light jacket/sweater for the meeting rooms, as they can sometimes be a bit chilly.
It is important to check the local weather forecast as you begin to pack in order to determine more specific types of clothing items to bring.
Generally speaking, WASSA (Western Region) is a casual to business casual conference, with a more formal dress ‘Awards Ceremony & Banquet’ held at the end of the conference. Overall, the only requirement for this event is that you relax and enjoy the opportunity to share and network with others in Summer Session administration.
Local Weather (Golden, CO)
Throughout the WASSA Conference, opportunities abound to win items from other attending institutions, via raffle drawings, for attending the various sessions. Be sure to bring those fun institutional items (e.g. pens, highlighters, coffee mugs, tee shirts, stuffed mascots, Frisbees, hats, etc….usually around 6-10 items) that you would like to contribute towards the giveaway activities.
Be sure to bring samples of your marketing materials to share with others, so you can show off the great marketing strategies and ideas your institution has been promoting. There are usually 50-60 attendees at the conference.
If you would prefer to ship items ahead for the conference, rather than bring them with you, please feel free to do so. General package labeling guidelines are listed below to ensure proper delivery:
