I hope everyone's summer is wrapping up well! At Hampshire College we run both college and precollege summer programs. Our precollege programs concluded at the end of July and I've been spending some time reviewing our student and faculty feedback, as well as thinking about our goals for next year. That being said, I was interested in learning a bit more about other schools' precollege programs and the approximate number of students who matriculate to your institution as a (possible) result of participating in the precollege programs.
I'm hoping to put a more concentrated focus on our precollege programs in the future. I plan to work more with admissions to look at how the students who attend our precollege programs (and matriculate to Hampshire) are then retained. I'm thinking about different ways that we can measure the 'success' of our summer programs and think that there's much to be said about the return that an institution receives from putting more support and resources into precollege programs as a whole. Any information that you're able to share about your precollege students matriculating to your institution would be great. Thank you!
