proposed education budget cuts money for Pell Grants

Posted By Gary Simon, Thursday, June 1, 2017

The administration's proposed budget includes draconian cuts to Pell Grants and otherwise makes funding an education more expensive for students and their families. Our summer students need access to financial assistance to help them prepare for tomorrow's workforce. We have to let legislators know these cuts to knowledge and training investment are unacceptable. I urge you to sign this petition or contact your US Representative if you feel as I do.

Sign the petition demanding Congress reject Trump’s education budget.

In addition to cutting $3.9 billion from the Pell Grant reserve fund, the President’s budget also proposes:

  • Eliminating Public Service Loan Forgiveness that helps students pursuing vital careers.
  • Eliminating Subsidized Loans that keep interest costs low.
  • Replacing Existing Repayment Plans, which people use to lower their monthly payments.

We can do better for our students and their families.
