Educational institutions are highlighting student success initiatives that will increase first-year retention rates as well as four- and six-year graduation rates. Summer Sessions has risen to the top of many of those initiatives as a way to help our students establish and achieve their educational goals.

At the 48th Annual Conference of the North American Association of Summer Sessions, we will discuss the role that Summer Sessions plays, or can play, in the success of students on our campuses. “Summer Sessions in the City” promises to be a journey filled with walks down the Magnificent Mile and explorations of endless possibilities that Summer Sessions has to offer your faculty, your students, and your institution in achieving student success.

All proposals are welcome. Proposals that address the following topics will be given the strongest consideration:
• Student Success Initiatives and Programming
• Innovative Teaching and Learning Opportunities
• Marketing and Assessment Tools
• Research and Policy Issues
• Partnerships and Collaborations

Presentation formats: Concurrent sessions can include presentations in a variety of formats, including individual or group presentations that are given in the format of the presenter(s) choice, such as hands-on workshops, panel discussions, or interactive lectures. Concurrent sessions provide an opportunity to present completed research, best practices, surveys, or results of a new initiative.

Submissions should include:
(a) a summary – limit the summary to no more than 50 words (this will appear in the concurrent sessions section of the conference program);
(b) an abstract (maximum 250 words) which describes the objectives and content of the presentation;
(c) a cover page including title of presentation, list of names, title, and organization/institution for each presenter, contact name, title, address, telephone, fax number, and e-mail address for purposes of notification of acceptance.

Don’t want to present, but are interested in helping at the conference in an official capacity?  We need recorders, moderators, and facilitators. If you would like to participate in this capacity, please let us know!
